What’s Missing for the Green Transition? From Technology Readiness to Systemic Impact
The green transition demands more than technological substitution—it requires an evolution of our entire innovation architecture. This keynote explores where universities and research institutions currently sit on the Technology Readiness Level spectrum and what is required to advance solutions toward industrial deployment. Drawing on national implementation strategies for the EU Missions, Sascha Ruhland highlights the missing funding, policy, and collaboration mechanisms needed for systemic change.

The session concludes with a panel discussion featuring Manuela Baccarini (Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs, University of Vienna), Eva Czernohorszky (Head of Life Sciences, Green Economy and Young Talent, Vienna Business Agency), Henriette Spyra (Expert for Innovation and Mobility, BMIMI), and Barbara Inmann (Managing Director, Climate Lab).
Together, they will reflect on open challenges and what is needed to move from ambition to implementation.
