univie:connect - green innovations 2026

Organized by the University of Vienna and led by univie innovation, in close cooperation with the Environment and Climate Research Hub and the City of Vienna, univie:connect – Green Innovations will bring together stakeholders from academia, industry, the public sector, and the broader innovation ecosystem. The event aims to foster dialogue on advancing green innovation, strengthening collaboration, and supporting the transition towards a more sustainable future in Austria and beyond.

The program will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, and thematic match-making sessions addressing both social and technological aspects of the green transformation. Topics will range from social innovation and transdisciplinary approaches to technological innovation, entrepreneurship, and financing the green transition. A dedicated “Greenovation Alley” will showcase key actors, initiatives, and support structures across the innovation ecosystem, providing opportunities for exchange and networking throughout the day.

With a strong focus on initiating new partnerships, highlighting cutting-edge research and applications, and identifying emerging needs and innovation fields, the event will connect researchers, companies, startups, policymakers, funding agencies, and other key stakeholders committed to driving sustainable innovation.
