From Research to Green Innovation

In this session, you will gain insight into how green innovation at the University of Vienna evolves, from teaching and early-stage research to inventions and their further development.

Nuno Maulide (Professor of Organic Synthesis) will open the session with an overview of educational efforts in Green Chemistry at the University of Vienna. This will be followed by insights into cutting-edge research from the FWF Cluster of Excellence “Microbiomes Drive Planetary Health”, presented by Thomas Böttcher (Professor of Microbial Biochemistry).

In the second part of the session, Jacqueline Bitai (Member of UniVie Innovation) will highlight innovation activities at the University of Vienna, featuring the Green Inventors of 2025, who will present their award-winning projects and inventions.

The session will conclude with Clara Conrad-Billroth (Venture Creation Lead), who will showcase how research results are translated into real-world applications, for example through the green innovation lab.
