Opening Ceremony: How do we set the course for green innovation together?

Join us as we open univie:connect – Green Innovations and set the tone for a day of exchange and collaboration. Representatives from the City of Vienna and the University of Vienna will welcome you and highlight why cross-sector collaboration is key to tackling climate and sustainability challenges.

You will gain insights into the University of Vienna’s interdisciplinary research on climate, environment, and sustainability through a keynote by Sabine Pahl (Environment and Climate Research Hub).

In addition, you will hear from the City of Vienna on green innovation in the urban context, including the “Vienna Research Questions” presented by Katharina Meissner-Schöller and Franz Oberndorfer (Director’s Office for Science, Research and Business Location at the City of Vienna). Christian Fencz (Wiener Stadtwerke) will provide further perspectives on innovation management in the public utility sector, while Christian Einzinger (Wien Energie) will complement these insights by showing how research and innovation are translated into practice.
