Challenge: Products become more integrated with third party components. And more and more intelligence is developed in organizations own product components. Recent years the product lifecycles have become shorter and shorter, which has increased the importance of protecting R&D investments.  At the same time we see an increase of technologies being developed that simplifies copying and cloning of technologies, especially from Asian countries, where the respect for IP-protection is low, leaving OEM’s with an increased risk of reduced profitability due to products being copied/cloned, reduced aftermarket revenues due to counterfeits and increased risk of fatal product malfunctioning due to  low quality/performance counterfeits
