About
GENCHI is a semi teleportation platform service that enables overseas fans of Japanese culture to access Japan and achieve their goals in real time without physical travel. Using human augmentation technology, and local on-site resources, users can shop, attend events, and interact with local people in real time as if they were truly there, starting from €28 per hour.
Like Uber, our platform service assigns local workers through a GPS-based system, allowing users to experience remote locations with their own eyes and ears while being in two places at the same time.
For example, a user in the U.S. can remotely visit a store in Japan to purchase limited-edition Pokémon goods that are unavailable online. While sitting at home, the user can explore the shop, interact with the local people in real time, compare products, and purchase the items.
GENCHI addresses mobility barriers caused by travel, time, cost, physical disabilities, and other travel constraints. Our long-term vision is to establish a new form of online mobility that expands access anywhere, experiences, and opportunities regardless of where they are for anyone who want to go anywhere, but cannot including older adults and people with disability. We have currently achieved three senses, sight, hearing, and touch. Looking ahead, we aim to introduce robotics and achieve capabilities for smell and taste as well and improve quality of life.
