Innovative pathways to reduce fibre and microplastic dispersion from the textile life cycle

Microplastics and textile fibres pose increasing threats to ecosystems and human health. This session highlights innovations to reduce plastic release across textile production, use, and disposal. Pitches will cover low-shedding materials, surface treatments, advanced filtration for appliances and wastewater, monitoring solutions, and nature-based interventions. Participants can also benefit from MISSION4WATER initiative, offering expertise, resources, and testing to refine and validate technologies.
