About
Established in 1868 as Advanced School for Commerce, Ca' Foscari University of Venice was the first institution in Italy to deal with higher education in the field of Business and Economics.
With more than 23,000 students and nearly 1,400 staff, UNIVE is organised into 8 Departments, 3 Schools and an International College, committed to developing the next generation of researchers, scientists and academics through collaboration across disciplines, advanced research projects and innovative study programs. It offers highly qualified education and promotes frontier research, through the active application of physical sciences and digital sciences to a century-old tradition rooted in the economics and management, social sciences, languages and humanities (660th QS rankings). The exploration of new directions in cutting-edge research is consequently at the core of several projects and interdisciplinary research groups who address the global challenges through national and international collaborations.
Ca' Foscari University of Venice contributes to sustainability through interdisciplinary research and technology transfer in areas such as advanced materials, environmental sciences, and circular economy solutions. Through its PInK (Promoting Innovation and Knowledge) office, the university connects academic research with industry to translate scientific discoveries and patented technologies into innovative and sustainable applications.
