ICN2

The expertise of ICN2 lies at the nanoscale, where new properties, interactions, and ways of harnessing them for everyday life are discovered. Among its objectives are bringing together scientists from diverse backgrounds in pursuit of better science, better training, and better outreach to society, while also seeking new ways to engage with both local and global industry.

ICN2 was accredited in 2014 as a Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence, a distinction that was renewed in 2018 and again in 2023 for another four-year period. The Severo Ochoa Programme, sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, aims to identify and support Spanish research centres that rank among the best in the world in their respective fields.

We work collaboratively to identify industrial applications where the innovative technologies developed within our research groups can deliver the highest added value to the market.
