About

ASIMCOV – founded in 1996 in Covasna County (Romania) with 21 founding members, the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises from Covasna County aims to support the region’s SMEs and foster local economic development.
Today the association comprises nearly 500 member-businesses and serves as a key actor in regional development by representing SME interests, collaborating with public-authorities, institutions and economic organisations, and participating in national and European programmes.
ASIMCOV’s core objectives include: developing partnerships with similar organisations; attracting funding and investing in the region; organising training, seminars, business meetings, national and international fairs and exhibitions; and forming professional groups (clusters) in different sectors to promote information transfer and member engagement.
The association’s vision embraces creating sector-specific professional groups (e.g., wood-industry, green energy, tourism, textiles) which form the basis for cluster formation, thereby strengthening competitiveness, innovation and sustainable growth in the region.
ASIMCOV also manages a business incubator (since 2006), providing support to start-ups, facilitating innovation and enabling firms to participate in international networks and EU programmes.
Through its activities, ASIMCOV plays a central role in enhancing the local economy of Covasna County by mobilising SMEs, facilitating access to international cooperation and funding, promoting sustainability and the circular/bio-economy, and fostering a more inclusive, resilient region.
