Linkdlab GmbH is a chemistry AI and lab‑digitalisation start-up based in Jena, Germany. We build an open, modular no‑code platform that connects laboratory devices, data streams and AI models into reproducible workflows. Our mission is to break down the “code wall” in research and development so that any lab team – not just those with in‑house software engineers – can benefit from automation and data‑driven decision making.
At the core of Linkdlab is our open‑source FuncNodes framework: a visual, node‑based environment where users drag‑and‑drop building blocks instead of writing code. Pumps, balances, spectrometers, sensors, cameras and other instruments can be integrated via simple adapters and orchestrated from a browser-based interface. Existing Python code, AI models and analytics scripts can be wrapped as reusable nodes, so that experts can share their methods with colleagues without exposing them to low‑level implementation details.
By standardising data capture and automating routine operations, Linkdlab helps labs run more efficiently and sustainably. Experiments can be designed more systematically, failures are detected earlier, and high‑quality data is captured once instead of re‑generated. This reduces chemical and consumable waste, improves energy efficiency of lab operations and extends the useful lifetime of existing equipment by making it part of a modern digital ecosystem rather than forcing costly replacement.
Beyond the platform itself, we support customers with project-based services:
Lab digitalisation roadmapping and concept development
Integration of existing instruments and infrastructure
Design of automated workflows and AI/ML analytics pipelines
Training and enablement for lab staff (no coding required)
At Sustainable Solutions Match 2026 we are looking for:
R&D labs in chemistry, life science and environmental fields seeking to modernise their infrastructure
Industrial partners who want to pilot data‑driven, resource‑efficient workflows in existing facilities
Equipment and sensor manufacturers interested in integrating their devices into an open, no‑code automation ecosystem
Innovation networks and funding programmes focused on sustainable, digital lab transformation
Our goal is to make advanced automation and AI tools accessible to labs of all sizes – enabling more sustainable, reproducible and scalable science.
