Advanced Chemical Recycling for Circular Plastics
Prokurist / Finance & Legal Manager at Pruvia GmbH
Fürth, Germany
About
PRUVIA is a German cleantech company developing advanced chemical recycling solutions for mixed plastic waste. The company has developed a proprietary pyrolysis process to convert polyolefin-rich plastic fractions into circular pyrolysis oil suitable for use in petrochemical production.
Its technology allows the conversion of mixed, contaminated plastic fractions that cannot be mechanically recycled, contributing directly to the EU’s long-term policy commitment of transitioning to a circular plastics economy.
After successfully designing and operating a pilot plant in Italy (2020) and a demonstration plant in Germany (2022-today) that validated process feasibility and output quality, the company is in the process of developing its first commercial facility at the Gendorf Chemical Park in Bavaria, Germany. The plant will be developed in two phases, each enabling the processing of up to 35,000 tonnes of plastic feedstock per year.
PRUVIA is currently raising €15m to finance Phase 1 of the Gendorf Plant.
