Electric marine jet drive propulsion

CEO, Marine Propulsion at Lyte Drive Ltd

About

Lyte Drive is reengineering marine propulsion around a simple belief that electric jet systems should be lighter, more efficient and easier to live with.

At the heart of Lyte Drive is an new electric jet architecture that removes the mechanical complexity found in conventional systems. By integrating propulsion, cooling and structure into a tightly engineered package with far fewer moving parts, the system delivers strong torque, clean thrust and straightforward maintenance. The result is a compact jet unit with reduced weight, lower servicing demands and improved whole life cost.

Our platform spans 5 kW to 45 kW for battery electric applications, ideal for tenders, harbour craft, workboats, leisure craft and specialist defence use where low noise, shallow draft and reliability matter. The modular design allows rapid access to key components, simple integration with modern battery systems and flexibility across multiple hull types.

We are looking to work with forward thinking boatbuilders, commercial fleet operators, harbour authorities and defence integrators who are serious about practical decarbonisation. Partners who want proof, data and engineering rigour rather than marketing claims. Together we can deliver propulsion systems that are not just electric, but genuinely better engineered for the next generation of vessels.
