About
Calor-e thermal batteries are modular energy storage systems designed to convert and store surplus renewable electricity as high-temperature heat. Housed in insulated containers, these units use resistive heating to reach temperatures up to 400°C, storing energy in a solid medium with a capacity of roughly 1 MWh per module. This stored thermal energy can be discharged as steam or hot air for industrial processes or district heating, providing a cost-effective, carbon-neutral alternative to fossil-fuel boilers. With a 25-year operational lifespan and a fully recyclable design, Calor-e acts as a "demand-shifting" tool, allowing users to charge during low electricity prices and discharge when energy is most expensive or needed.
