Certification standard for regenerative agriculture and livestock.
Co-CEO at AGRECERT
Sevilla, Spain
About
AGRECERT is a technical standard for regenerative agriculture and livestock that provides agri-food companies, cooperatives and certification bodies with an independent framework to turn their sustainability projects into real, measurable and verifiable regeneration.
The standard brings together agronomic, environmental and social criteria (soil, water, air, biodiversity, animal welfare, farmer and consumer) and defines different levels of compliance, from regenerative transition to the highest level of demand. This makes it possible to work both with organic producers and with conventional operations that are in the process of improvement.
Through AGRECERT it is possible to certify agricultural and livestock farms, supply chains and, additionally, inputs compatible with regenerative agriculture. The certification is based on field audits, soil and biodiversity indicators, and a connection with climate metrics that are useful for corporate reporting (carbon footprint, reduction plans, Scope 3).
The value for organisations is manifold: reduced greenwashing risk, traceability and credibility with clients and investors, improved resilience of production systems, and differentiation in markets where regeneration is starting to become a requirement.
