Survey on Social Protection Systems and Essential Services

Have your say on our current trend survey on the future of Social Protection Systems & Essential Services. This way, you will will help shape the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the new European Partnership on Social Transformations and Resilience (STR), ensuring that it addresses the most pressing trends and challenges.

The survey aims to

1. Review and validate key trends shaping the future of Social Protection Systems and Essential Services, 

2. Assess the trends’ impact on the future, and 

3. Identify any missing trends we might have overlooked.

The survey takes approximately 10–20 minutes to complete, depending on how many trends you choose to comment on.

The European Commission is planning a European Partnership on Social Transformations and Resilience. We, at DLR Project Management Agency Projektträger, are happy to conduct a foresight process towards developing the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) that will guide the Partnership activities from 2026 onwards. In this context, we invite you to participate in an online survey.

In preparation for the SRIA, we gathered emerging trends in education and skills development. Based thereon, we ask you to

• validate key trends,

• assess their impact on the future, and

• Identify any missing trends or overlooked developments.

How the Survey works:

• Time commitment: 5–20 minutes, depending on how many trends you choose to comment on.

• Your responses: Anonymous and used strictly for research purposes.

Context of the project: Expected to launch in 2027, the European Partnership for Social Transformations and Resilience aims to create a transformative R&I programme in the social sciences and humanities to strengthen resilience, fairness, inclusiveness, and social cohesion in response to major societal challenges. One of the key impact areas is fostering education and skills for the green and digital transitions.

The new European Partnership for Social Transformation and Resilience (STR Partnership) aims at creating a transformative research and innovation programme in the social sciences and humanities to strengthen resilience, fairness, inclusiveness, and social cohesion in response to major societal challenges. Expected to launch in 2027, the Partnership is now developing its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) to guide future research and policy efforts.

One of the key impact areas is the future of work – how evolving trends will shape employment, skills, and workforce dynamics in the coming years.

You are invited to contribute your insights on the future of work by:

• Analysing and validating trends identified through research,

• Assessing their impact on the future of work, and

• Identifying any missing trends or overlooked developments.

The survey takes 5–20 minutes, depending on the level of detail you wish to provide. Your responses are anonymous and will directly inform the development of the SRIA.

The survey will be open until 31 March 2025.
