Microwave Sensors and Electronics - MWSE

Microwave Sensors and Electronics SL (MWSE) is an electronic engineering company specializing in flexible radio frequency (RF) electronics for communication and remote sensing applications, both in space and on the ground.

In space, MWSE develops custom RF solutions for satellite missions. The company has developed the Minerva modular SDR, featuring UHF, L-, S-, X-, and Ka-band communication capabilities, for the i2CAT Foundation; GNSS-R + L-band radiometer front-end for the FSSCat mission, and the hardware for GASPER (GAlileo SPace receivER) in consortium with Deimos Space.

On Earth, MWSE designs RF sensors for near-ground remote sensing. The Company developed the first fully polarimetric, multi-frequency, ground-based synthetic aperture radar, capable of operating at all current and near-future SAR mission frequencies (P, L, S, C, and X bands). MWSE has also developed the ARIEL L-band radiometer for soil moisture and sea ice thickness retrieval, and has refurbished the HUTRad radiometer for the MOSAiC Expedition in the Arctic.
