Overview:

SKIMAT is a next-generation Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) satellite platform being developed by Redwire (RDW). The mission objective is to build a modular, scalable platform that enables high-performance earth observation and data services while reducing cost and time-to-orbit. The platform architecture is designed for aggressive lead-times, radiation-tolerant avionics, and efficient power/data handling for frequent payload integration cycles.

SKIMAT’s procurement strategy is based on a best-in-class supplier selection model, where each subsystem is evaluated through RFIs, feature feasibility studies, and capability assessments. We are currently expanding our supplier network in Europe and internationally.
