Problem statement: Applications that leverage on IoT Nodes such as climate control, lighting automation, asset or occupancy tracking, safety/security systems require that the position or each individual IoT node is well known in order to manage and operate the system correctly. System manufacturers use a wide variety of methods to know the position of each individual IoT Node. However, each of the analyzed methods has strong drawbacks that leads to errors and manual input during installation.
MobileKnowledge solution: The MK NoLo (MK Node Localization) solution is based on FiRa UWB connectivity technology. IoT nodes must be equipped with a FiRa UWB connectivity module and the MK NoLo SW to:

Automatically discover all IoT Nodes in the installation and determine the relative position between them with high precision (<10 cm error). By entering a small amount of reference absolute coordinates these relative coordinates are converted into absolute positions.

Setup a highly reliable and multipath mesh network to manage IoT Node lifecycle and laying the foundation for subsequent sensor data aggregation and Location based services for the end customer business logic.
