About me
I have a degree in fisheries biology, worked in fisheries and aquaculture research and commercial projects in e.g. Germany, Canada, USA, Russia and Estonia. Since eight years I am working at the R&D Centre University of Applied Sciences Kiel as head of the marine biology department. Currently I am focusing on leading offshore and nearshore multi-use pilots , combining aquaculture+nature restoration+wind, within private and EU projects e.g. ULTFARMS.

Session 5: Scaling up cultivation in exposed areas
As nearshore coastal areas are becoming scarce due to multiple use such as fisheries, tourism, and other nearshore activities, seaweed cultivation will soon shift to truly offshore areas. Experts will discuss colocation, materials and other aspects.
