Third Joint Transnational Co-Funded Call - SBEP 2025

Welcome to the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership – 3rd Call - Brokerage event!

The matchmaking event is organised by the Joint Call Secretariat of the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership and has the ambition to connect researchers, companies and stakeholders from marine and maritime communities interested in the Partnership's second transnational Call.

The 2025 Joint Call is the second Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership call and it is entitled: “Digitalisation and Innovation for Resilient Marine Ecosystems, Businesses, and Communities to Strengthen the EU Blue Economy’s Competitiveness”.

Research and innovation proposals submitted under the SBEP 2025 Joint Transnational Call are required to address one of the following priority areas:

  • Digital Twins of the Oceans (DTO) at regional sub basin scale

  • Transitioning the blue economy sectors, and development of marine multi-use infrastructures

  • Climate-Smart Planning and managing sea-uses at the regional scale

  • Blue Bioresources; sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, and new bio-based products

  • Resilient Coastal Communities and Businesses

The budget to implement the Joint Transnational Call for research and innovation projects is about 44 M€, including the contribution of the European Commission. The 28 countries participating to the call are: Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, Tunisia, Türkiye, Ukraine and Slovakia.

To help you finding a project to join, or partners for your project, you have the possibility to set up 20 minutes meetings with other participants during the matchmaking sessions of the event. Sessions of two hours will be organised from Monday 15th of September to Thursday 13rd of November. Sessions are scheduled between 10am  and 12am or 2pm and 4pm CET. Co-branding of the call

This call is co-branded as part of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, which is coordinated by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC/UNESCO) on behalf of the UN system, with the aim that the funded research and innovation projects are endorsed as Ocean Decade projects.
