Terre dei Santi was founded in 2004 through the merger of the Cantina del Barbera in San Damiano d'Asti and the Cantina Sociale del Freisa in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, the original cooperative founded in 1953.

The union of the two cooperatives creates one of the most important winemaking estates in central Piedmont, whose 140 members cultivate over 340 hectares of vineyards, divided into 2,500 vineyards across three distinct areas that have always been suited to viticulture: the Chierese, located in the southeast of the Turin hills; the Castelnovese, which encompasses a vast hilly area of northwestern Monferrato; and the hills of San Damiano d'Asti, which extend to the northeast of the Roero, within the boundaries of the Terre Alfieri appellation.
