Epanekkinisis is a Greek Social Cooperative Enterprise working at the intersection of circular economy, technology and social inclusion. Its core activities focus on extending the useful life of ICT and electronic equipment through collection, diagnosis, repair, refurbishment, reuse and responsible recycling. The organisation collects used computers and electronic devices, restores equipment that can be given a second life, and supports its redistribution and social reuse. Through this approach, Epanekkinisis contributes to reducing electronic waste, conserving resources and promoting more sustainable patterns of technology consumption, while simultaneously improving access to digital equipment. Alongside its circular-economy activities, Epanekkinisis has a strong social and educational dimension. It promotes digital inclusion and access to technology, develops skills and technical knowledge related to computer repair and reuse, and undertakes training, awareness-raising and knowledge-sharing activities. Its statutory objectives explicitly include environmental protection through the reduction of electronic waste; reuse, recovery and recycling of electronic equipment; development and maintenance of relevant infrastructure and know-how; education and training; and the design and dissemination of innovative and open digital products and software. By combining practical ICT repair and refurbishment with environmental and social objectives, Epanekkinisis provides a real-world environment for developing and testing circular solutions. It seeks to strengthen collaboration among communities, organisations, businesses and other circular-economy actors and to demonstrate how technology can remain in productive use for longer while generating both environmental and social value.
