Connecting sheep farming with the textile industry through wool quality, traceability, sustainability and circular economy solutions. Looking for partners in textile innovation, recycling, digital traceability and bio-based materials.
Wool Lab Tech (MELAR Genetics SLU) is a Spanish SME specialized in wool production systems, fibre quality, traceability, sustainability and innovation across the wool value chain. Our mission is to reconnect sheep farmers with the downstream textile industry, ensuring that wool producers become active participants in the value creation process rather than simply suppliers of a raw material. We believe that stronger integration between farmers, processors, manufacturers, brands and consumers is essential to unlock the full potential of wool as a renewable, biodegradable and circular fibre. Currently, one of the main challenges facing the wool sector is the disconnect between primary production and the final textile market. This gap limits the transmission of market signals, reduces incentives for quality improvement and prevents producers from capturing a fair share of the value generated throughout the supply chain. Wool Lab Tech works to bridge this gap by facilitating collaboration, data exchange and innovation across all stages of production and transformation. By connecting stakeholders and improving transparency, traceability and communication, we help create more resilient and competitive wool value chains.
I am a phd Agronomic engineer and innovation consultant specialized in wool production systems, fibre quality, genetic improvement, traceability and sustainability. Through Wool Lab Tech, I work at the intersection of livestock production and the textile industry, helping transform wool into a high-value, traceable and circular natural fibre. I am interested in building European partnerships focused on circular textiles, bio-based materials, digital traceability, eco-design and sustainable value chains.
Connecting sheep farmers, wool processors and textile industries to create circular, traceable and high-value wool supply chains that improve sustainability, fibre quality and producer participation in value creation.
