Rafael Garcia-Muñoz is a Chemical Engineering Full Professor. Research focused on the characterization of plastics, and recycling towards the Circular Economy
Rafael Garcia-Muñoz (RGM) is Full Professor at Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department of URJC of Madrid. One of the research field of RGM research is focused on the characterization of polyolefins, mainly polyethylene, polypropylene and their copolymers, and the study of their recyclates towards the Circular Economy of Plastics. In this topic, RGM is the Head of the Polymer Technology Laboratory (LATEP). LATEP is a laboratory for the physico-chemical characterization of polymers and the study of their relationship with the molecular structure of the material. Currently LATEP has an important line of research focused on the framework of the Circular Economy and especially in the mechanical recycling of polymers. LATEP is a certified laboratory according to ISO 9001:2008 for performing polymer characterization tests.
