Recycling of demolition and construction materials such as carpets, fabrics, and insulation materials
About
For the call RIV Circular Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) circularity.
CETI has a wide experience in recycling demolition and construction materials such as carpets, interior fabrics, and insulation materials.
The research and development center works on a wide range of technologies including fiber processing, yarn and nonwoven manufacturing, virgin or recycled polymer processing, melt spinning, textile recycling processes such as mechanical fiber recycling or synthetic materials thermomechanical recycling, and advanced characterisation methods.
CETI's mission is to support the transition toward a circular and sustainable textile industry by developing and validating solutions based on:
-
Mechanical, thermomechanical and chemical recycling routes
-
Incorporation of recycled and bio-sourced materials into new products
-
Design of materials and products compatible with recycling loops
-
Valorisation of complex waste streams and recycling by-products
MAIN TECHNICAL PLATFORMS
-
The Mechanical Recycling platform for fiber recovery and reuse
-
The Thermomechanical Recycling platform for polymer recovery and pellet production
-
The Nonwoven platforms (Spunmelt and Drylaid) for the valorization of recycled polymers and fibers
-
The Compounding / Spinning / Fibers, Nonwovens platform to incorporate recycled polymers in new technical textile product
-
The Yarn Spinning / Weaving / Knitting platforms to develop tarn incorporating recyccled fibers and evaluate processability and end-use performance
