Advanced textile materials, processes and circular solutions
About
The technical center is an independent applied research and innovation centre dedicated to the development of advanced textile materials, processes and circular solutions. It supports companies across the textile value chain, from fiber processing to final applications, through research, prototyping, testing, and technology transfer.
It offers a fully integrated technological infrastructure covering the entire textile value chain, with pilot and pre-industrial equipment rarely accessible to private companies.
The textile center works on a wide range of technologies including fiber processing, yarn and nonwoven manufacturing, virgin or recycled polymer processing, melt spinning, textile recycling processes such as mechanical fiber recycling or synthetic materials thermomechanical recycling, and advanced characterisation methods. Its activities also include the development and validation of innovative materials and processes through pilot-scale experimentation and testing.
With a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical experts, the centre collaborates closely with industrial partners ranging from SMEs to large companies. It helps them accelerate innovation, de-risk technological development, and bring new solutions to market.
Key platforms include:
- Advanced melt spinning (mono, bi- and tri-component fibers)
- Wet spinning
- Yarn spinning / weaving / knitting
- Nonwovens prototyping (meltblown, spunbond, drylaid processes)
- Recycling (mechanical and thermomechanical) and circularity platforms
