Beyond Project Finance: What it takes to capitalise African solar, storage and EV manufacturing

Financing a solar farm and financing a solar panel assembly plant are not the same problem. This session moves beyond project finance to ask what it actually takes to capitalise local manufacturing, from patient equity and export credit to the working capital that keeps an assembly line running. Drawing on Nigeria's manufacturing ambitions and Ghana's EV assembly pilots, the conversation examines which financing tools are already being used, which are missing, and what it would take for West Africa's industrial ambitions to be backed by capital at the scale required.
