Supporting Associations
The Congolese Association for Renewable and Decentralized Energies - ACERD is an independent non-profit organization working in the renewable energy industry in the DRC. Founded in July 2018, at its first General Assembly, ACERD is made up of various local, regional and international companies, the majority of which are major development players thanks to their contributions to the development of renewable and decentralized energies in the DRC. ACERD's major role is to promote sustainable development solutions and techniques through the products and services that make up the activities of Association members; but also to become a leading association in the renewable and decentralized energy industry in order to create viable and sustainable markets, by promoting respect for norms and standards in order to provide: Consumer products appropriate to the needs of the populations; Products and services of impeccable quality; Greater access of households, businesses and Congolese communities to renewable and decentralized energies in order to help accelerate their development.
ALER is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization for Development) whose mission is to promote renewable energies in Portuguese-speaking countries. The Association works as a facilitator of business opportunities by supporting the private sector and attracting investment and financing, as an interlocutor with national and international authorities to create a favorable regulatory framework and as a coordinator of the various stakeholders, creating a cooperation platform and constituting the common voice of renewable energies in the Portuguese language.
The Association of Off-Grid Electrification Professionals of Cameroon (APELCA) is a non-profit organization, established in August 2021 during the constitutive general assembly. APELCA is composed of local and international companies operating in the field of renewable energy, primarily solar. Its objective is to support and accelerate the sustainable development of the off-grid electrification equipment and services market, as well as the integration of productive energy uses.
The Renewable Energy Industries Association of Malawi (REIAMA) were established in 1999 with the explicit aim of promoting renewable energy technologies (RETs) in a sustainable manner to the satisfaction of consumers in Malawi. The Association draws its membership from individuals and companies who are involved in the production, supply, importation, exportation, installation, and servicing of RETs in Malawi. In addition, the Association also draws membership from organizations, individuals, projects, and programs that have sufficient and verifiable interest in the promotion, production, supply, importation, exportation, installation, and servicing of RETs in Malawi.
SAPVIA (South African Photovoltaic Industry Association) is a nonprofit organization that champions the growth and development of solar photovoltaic (PV) energy in South Africa. SAPVIA represents a broad spectrum of industry stakeholders from manufacturers and installers to financiers and consultants and works to shape policy, promote best practices, and ensure quality standards across the solar sector. Through initiatives like the PV GreenCard and advocacy for small-scale embedded generation, SAPVIA plays a key role in driving sustainable energy adoption and building a resilient solar ecosystem nationwide.

The Zambia Renewable Energy Association (ZARENA) is an interest group for renewable energy stakeholders in Zambia. ZARENA’s main objective is to foster and promote the large-scale adoption of renewable energy in Zambia. This overall objective can be broken down into a number of concrete targets:

Improved regulatory frameworks for renewable energy through enhanced policy advice.

Improvements in the transfer of renewable energy technology.

Progress on skills and know-how for renewable energy.

Financing of renewable energy. By pursuing this objective, ZARENA will help to reduce the pressure on finite energy sources, provide a sound basis for meeting future energy demand, stabilize energy prices, improve access to energy particularly for the poorest, combat climate change and increase energy security. At the same time, it will contribute to economic growth and job creation.
