The Off-Taker Advantage: Why telecoms, mining and data centres are becoming Africa's most bankable power customers
Location:Room ATrack:C&I stream
Utilities and national grids are not the only off-takers financiers should be watching. Telecom towers, mining sites and data centres are large, often remote power consumers, and their balance sheets, sometimes backed by hard currency revenue, give them a fundamentally different credit profile to a typical grid-connected utility PPA. This session looks at how financiers are structuring captive power and energy-as-a-service deals for these customers, why storage and hybrid systems dominate at this scale, and which of the three sectors currently makes the strongest bankability case.
