Spirit Shines Christian Ministries, Inc

Spirit Shines Christian Ministries, Inc. (SSCM) is a non-profit Christian ministry founded by Dr. Ailin Iwan and Mr. Kenneth K. Y. Poon to share the Gospel, serve communities in need, and help people grow in a closer and more intimate relationship with God.

The ministry originally began at the University of Hong Kong in January 2013 as Spirit Shines Fellowship. Ailin and Kenneth together searched for truth through exploring Christianity and other faiths in the form of prayer meeting, sharing and dialogs, praise and worship with their friends, post-graduate students and local Christian leaders at the Graduate House dormitory at HKU. Through their journey of faith, Ailin and Kenneth were baptized in 2013 and 2017 and felt called to share the Gospel and the knowledge and resources they had received with others.

Spirit Shines Voyage Online was set up in July 2017 to extend this mission beyond the campus walls. The website provides information about Christian fellowship and authentic resources.

In July 2021, Spirit Shines Christian Ministries, Inc. was established as a 501c(3) non-profit organization in San Francisco as a commitment of the founders to further God’s Kingdom.

Today, SSCM carries out outreach and community service through:

- Sharing the Gospel an authentic Christian resources with people seeking to know God.

- Distributing Bibles, particularly to children and families.

- Supporting children in developing countries through World Vision.

- Participating in Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse.

- Supporting local church ministries.

Our long-term vision is to establish Christian schools in developing countries to nurture children with Christ-like character.
