Digital / BIM
About
For several years now, the digital transformation has been changing the way cities are planned, built, and operated. For landscape architecture, this means above all that complex information must be processed more quickly, more precisely, and in a more collaborative manner. To meet the growing demands of the planning process, we are continuously working to further digitize our processes. We rely on an integrated, data-driven workflow that has already brought greater transparency to many projects and enables us to make informed decisions at every stage of a project—even as we continue to refine this approach.
Digitally Connected—From Analysis to Execution
Our firm is continuously working to establish a seamless digital workflow that connects various data sources and tools and is already supporting us in many projects. In addition to traditional CAD systems, we rely on model-based 3D planning and, increasingly, on AI-powered tools that accelerate internal processes or assist with variant generation. These technologies enable hybrid design concepts in which digital models and analog expertise merge to create a design process that is both precise and open to creative possibilities.
BIM – Model-Based Design with Real Added Value
For us, the BIM design method is no longer a topic for the future, but rather a proven practice in numerous projects. We use a model-based approach in both infrastructure projects and complex office and educational buildings, where outdoor spaces are an integral part of the overall model.
In outdoor space planning, BIM means more to us than just 3D visualization; it involves working with intelligently linked information—from materials and construction sequences to technical parameters. This results in transparent, consistent planning stages that can be seamlessly coordinated with other trades.
Technical infrastructure can also be modeled with precision:
We plan drainage pipes, manholes, backflow prevention structures, and other elements within the digital model, enabling quantity takeoffs directly from the BIM model—which significantly increases accuracy and cost certainty. Clash detection between trades or building components is, of course, an integral part of the process and minimizes the need for later adjustments during construction.
