Biomedical Engineering Center (University of Oviedo)
Oviedo, Spain
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oviedo (Spain) and a researcher in the Human-Computer Interaction Group (HCI-G).
At the Biomedical Engineering Center of the University of Oviedo, we are dedicated to bridging the gap between engineering and healthcare. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on innovative research and technological development aimed at enhancing patient care and medical practices. We collaborate with other institutions and industry partners to foster advancements in biomedical solutions, pursuing excellence in both education and real-world applications. Join us as we work towards transforming healthcare through cutting-edge engineering.
I am an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Oviedo (Spain) and a researcher in the Human-Computer Interaction Group (HCI-G). My research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction, with particular interest in user behaviour analysis, usable security, behavioural biometrics, eye-tracking, accessibility, and user experience.
My work explores how users interact with digital systems through mouse, keyboard, touchscreen and gaze data, and how these interaction patterns can be analysed using statistical and machine-learning techniques. Current research interests include user profiling and identification, age-related interaction patterns, human factors in cybersecurity, accessible digital services, and the application of HCI methods in healthcare and other real-world contexts.
I am interested in hosting motivated postdoctoral researchers through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships programme. I particularly welcome candidates who can complement our HCI expertise with backgrounds in areas such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, behavioural analytics, cybersecurity, biometrics, eye-tracking or data science.
At the University of Oviedo, candidates would join an active research environment and have access to specialised facilities and equipment for conducting experimental HCI research. I am especially interested in developing ambitious interdisciplinary projects that combine rigorous user studies with computational approaches to better understand human behaviour and design more usable, accessible and secure interactive systems.
The HCI Group at the University of Oviedo (Spain) is seeking motivated postdoctoral researchers interested in applying for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF) 2027.
