My group studies communication between the vascular, nervous, and immune systems in cardiovascular disease. We discovered neuroimmune cardiovascular interfaces (Nat Med 2019, Nature 2022) and immune training in vascular inflammation (Genome Med 2026).

Dr. Mohanta studied Veterinary Medicine and Biomedicine in India and United Kingdom, and completed PhD training on Molecular Medicine (Vascular) at Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena . He then pursued a Postoctoral Fellowship at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich with a special interest in vascular biology and atherosclerosis. In 2022, he established his independent cardiovascular research group on neuroimmune circuitry at the LMU Munich. He is one of the founders ofEasemedcontrol GmbH.
