Background in Structural Dynamics, work with Civil Engineering Structures. Our laboratory has wide experience in vibration testing and monitoring of civil structures. Our research is aligned with damage detection and characterisation of infrastructure.

My organisation

With origins dating back to the eighteenth century, the _University of Porto (U.PORTO)_ is currently one of the most prestigious Higher Education Institutions of Europe. About me

I am interested in techniques for assessing the condition of cables in cable-stayed structures. Vibration problems, non-linearities, and interactions in the context of extending the life of infrastructure are among my preferred topics for supervision.

    Robots and Vision Systems for Condition Assessment of Tensioned Cables

    Robotic cable inspection has relied on climbing robots with cameras for visual checks. Here, the robot is used as a sensor to localize sections, apply loads, and identify mode shapes and cable parameters, merging robotics, vision, and civil engineering.
