Konstantinos Kourtzanidis

I am an Assistant Professor of Compressible & Supersonic Flows at the University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece, and a Collaborating Faculty Member at CERTH (Centre for Research & Technology Hellas, Thessaloniki, Greece). My work sits at the intersection of fluid dynamics, non-equilibrium plasma and gas physics, and multiphysics numerical methods.

My research develops self-consistent computational models and sources for plasmas, with applications in flow control, plasma-assisted ignition & combustion, and energy and gas conversion. A central thread is the design and validation of robust numerical schemes deployed in open-source and in-house numerical frameworks with an AI-for-science mindset.
