About me

As an Associate Professor of Economics with over a decade of experience in quantitative research, I have always been driven by the power of data to uncover the underlying mechanisms of complex economic systems. My academic journey, which reached a milestone with a Ph.D. from Istanbul Technical University in 2018, has been defined by a commitment to methodological rigor and the pursuit of evidence-based policy insights. Currently based at Sakarya University, I find a unique balance between advancing econometric theory and applying these tools to real-world socio-economic challenges.

I view myself as a bridge-builder between sophisticated mathematical modeling and practical economic applications. My fascination with panel data, time series, and spatial econometrics stems from the belief that economic phenomena are never isolated; they are deeply interconnected across time and geography. This perspective guides my research, as I strive to account for spatial spillover effects and long-term dependencies that are often overlooked in traditional analyses. My work, published in reputable international journals, reflects this dedication to capturing the nuances of global and regional economic dynamics.

Beyond the numbers and models, I am a firm believer in the transformative power of international collaboration. I am deeply invested  in the mentorship of graduate students and the exchange of ideas across borders, which is why I am particularly enthusiastic about the Horizon Europe MSCA framework. I see myself as a collaborative researcher who thrives in multidisciplinary environments, always eager to contribute my technical expertise to diverse teams while learning from the varied perspectives of international colleagues. My goal is to foster long-lasting professional networks that contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic development on a global scale.
