About me

Dr. Cristina Gutiérrez Muñoz is a senior researcher at the Iberian Centre for Research in Energy Storage (CIIAE), where she leads the research line on CO₂ capture and utilisation. Her activity is framed within the Hydrogen & Power-to-X Department, a consolidated research unit with significant critical mass and infrastructure. Her trajectory shows a coherent and sustained line of research in environmentally driven chemical processes, advanced adsorbent materials and high-pressure/supercritical CO₂ technologies, fields in which she has achieved scientific recognition at national and international levels.

Dr. Gutiérrez also has a strong and well-documented mentoring record. She has supervised one PhD thesis, one undergraduate dissertation, five final-degree engineering projects, over ten Master’s and Bachelor’s research interns, two industrial postdoctoral researchers, two postdoctoral researchers at CIIAE, and eight engineers in applied R&D settings. Her experience spans academic, industrial, and interdisciplinary environments, ensuring that early-career researchers receive comprehensive scientific and professional development support.
