About me

Marco Domaneschi is Associate Professor at Politecnico di Torino, where he teaches Earthquake and Structural Engineering. Previously, he served as Researcher and Adjunct Professor at Politecnico di Milano, combining academic roles with professional activity as a structural and geotechnical engineer for special structures (dams, bridges, tunnels) and as an R&D consultant in piping engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pavia, with research periods at UPC Barcelona and Princeton University. He has authored two books, over 100 journal papers, and 200 conference papers, and has advised a number of MSc and Ph.D. students. Awarded by some distinctions for research contributions to Journals and Conferences, he coordinates and supports national and international research projects, MoU and commercial contracts for POLITO. He is Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member for several journals (e.g., Journal of Vibration and Control, Bridge Engineering ICE, Structure and Infrastructure Engineering, Advances in Engineering Software, Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering), reviewer for over 70 journals, and active in associations such as IABMAS, ISHMII, and ITCOLD. Since 2022, he has been included in Stanford’s list of the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists. He holds the Italian National Qualification as Full Professor (2024).
