Senior Lecturer
The Open University
Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom
As an academic at the Open University in the UK, my research focuses on bionanotechnology and engineering to develop innovative biosensors for healthcare.
I have a multidisciplinary background, holding a BEng in Electronic Engineering, an MSc in Bionanotechnology and BioMEMS, and a PhD in biosensors and biotechnology for clinical applications. I am currently a Senior Lecturer at the Open University, where my research focuses on developing portable point-of-care (POC) diagnostic biosensors for healthcare. My work combines biotechnology, nanotechnology, and bioelectronics, with particular emphasis on immunoassays, aptamers, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) and piezoelectric nanomaterials, employing electrochemical and optical techniques alongside nanotechnology and microfluidics.
