I am a Professor in Comparative Politics at the University of Glasgow. My research focuses on party politics, political participation, legislative behavior, direct democracy, deliberative democracy, and elections . My research and teaching combines quantitative and qualitative methods, single case-studies and comparative analyses. I published in a range of international peer-reviewed journals as well as authored and edited several books with high profile publishers. I am currently the editor-in-chief for Politics (a PSA journal), associate editor for Migration Studies and the book series editor for Democratic Innovations with Routledge
