About me
I am a Group Leader at the Danish Cancer Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark. I have a strong background in molecular biology that I use to provide new insights into human diseases.
My research concentrates around genome instability and how it causes human diseases, in particular cancer. We have specialized in maintenance of the ribosomal DNA that is found in the nucleolus and encodes the ribosomal RNA needed for ribosome biogenesis. Our work has elucidated a specialized nucleolar DNA damage response (n-DDR) and we continue to investigate its composition. Furthermore we analyse how cellular homeostasis is perturbed as a consequence of rDNA instability and the link to human diseases.
