My organisation

The UNED is the biggest public university in Spain in terms of both number of students and academic offerings, as well as the largest campus in Europe and has been 50 years committed to universalize quality Higher Education through an online and blended learning model leader in its sector. The more than 200,000 students who trust in the UNED each year endorse an innovative learning system that combines online teaching and on-site support backed by a constantly evolving technological platform that offers a flexible model adapted to the individual needs of each of its students. An active system applied in all the studies of its wide academic offer, in which the student becomes the main character of his or her own learning, as established by the European Higher Education System. The UNED has more than one hundred active Research Groups, distributed among its 11 Faculties and Schools. The thematic diversity addressed is extremely extensive and offers new solutions and areas of study for a large number of areas of interest to the Society. But the research activity of the UNED is not only developed from the Faculties and Schools, but it is also structured in its three Research Institutes and its two Study Centers.

About me

Angela Martinez-Carrasco is a senior European project manager and a writer. She holds a master's degree in Non-profit Organisations Management (UNED) and a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Administration from the University of Murcia, with a final year at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
Currently, she combines her career as a project manager with writing fiction books.

For the last 3 years, Angela has been a member of the Spanish National Contact Point (Ministry of Culture) of the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme. Her duties have been to promote, inform, and advise about the funding opportunities of this European Commission programme. She has cooperated with both the EACEA/EC officers and the network of CERV NCP to reach a high number of stakeholders in Spain and Europe, and to support them for their successfull application for funding in areas such antiracism, gender equality, fighting against GBV and violence against children, remembrance, or democracy.

Previously, Angela worked as a European project manager in FECYT, where she supported the Spanish State Research Agency and the Ministry of Science and Innovation in gender, social sciences, and humanities projects.

For three years and a half, Angela was the project manager of LONGPOP (H2020 Marie-Sklodowska Curie - Innovative Training Networks), coordinated by the Institute of Economy, Geography and Demography of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), in Madrid.

Previously, she worked as R&D consultant in the Center for Human and Social Sciences of CSIC, advising about funding opportunities and giving support to researchers in the management and reporting of EU and national projects (H2020, LIFE+, FP7, etc.). Before that, she developed her professional skills as auditor of projects co-financed by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID).

Angela started her professional career in CESIE, a non-profit organisation of Palermo (Italy). During more than 6 years, she was in charge of the project design and the development of networks in the European Cooperation and the Higher Education and Research Departments. For more than 4 years she was also the European Projects Design Coordinator of the organisation. She worked as a project manager, researcher, trainer, and supervisor of more than 25 European projects in the fields of education, research, and development. Finally, she cooperated with the Human Resources Department in the process of CV selection, job interview, definition of staff tasks, and initial training of trainees.
