I am developmental scientist investigating the development of executive functions in babies and toddlers, with a focus on longitudinal research.
I am the PI at the Bristol University Baby Lab (BUBL). At BUBL we investigate the development of core cognitive skills during the first 5 years of life. Almost all of my research is longitudinal - this is because I am particularly interested in understanding how early developmental trajectories lead to later outcomes (e.g., school performance, behavioral difficulties).
Much of my work has focused on the early development of executive functions, including inhibitory control, working memory and cognitive flexibility. I have developed tasks to measure these skills at an earlier age than was previously possible, and we have used those tasks to investigate the neural substrates of early executive function skills in babies and toddlers.
Due to the longitudinal nature of most of my work, I have large longitudinal data sets available that can help answer many interesting developmental questions. I am open to early career researchers joining my lab through MSCA actions to work on this data. There are also opportunities to be directly involved in our ongoing longitudinal data collection using both behavioural and neuroimaging techniques (e.g., EEG and fNIRS). Feel free to get in touch if you are interested in working together.
