Professor Daniel Lesnic (PhD 1995, Leeds University, Professor in Applied Mathematics since 2008) is a leading expert in Inverse Problems with a 35-year research experience, being Associate Editor of the Journal of Inverse Ill-Posed Problems and IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics, and he is very active (over 10,000 citations, h-index 51) by publishing over 460 papers (https://eps.leeds.ac.uk/maths/staff/4052/professor-daniel-lesnic)..) In November 2021, his book entitled Inverse Problems with Applications in Science and Engineering was published by Taylor & Francis Ltd. His expertise in inverse problems with applications could be a crucial factor in choosing Leeds University as Host by the fellow. He has obtained research grants totalling over €2 million from the London Mathematical Society, Engineering and Physical Science Research Council, Royal Society, British Council, the EU and industry.
