MSCA PF Hosting in Polymer Chemistry

My research activities focus on the synthesis of macromolecules for biomedical applications by combining polymer chemistry, macromolecular engineering, and solid-phase synthesis. These projects are based on two strategies: i) the incorporation of amino acids into the main chain by solid-phase synthesis and ii) the synthesis of macromonomers carrying peptide sequences and their polymerization. The latter strategy has sparked growing interest in the synthesis of comb polymers with peptide sequences on their side chains and in the study of their properties (e.g. thermoresponsive behavior). Projects can be also considered on the modification of the surface of inorganic nanoparticles with such polymers. Various fields of biomedical applications are targeted including delivery of small drugs, theranostics, gene therapy, cell adhesion, and materials with antimicrobial activities. I am interested in building a project along these lines with a potential postdoctoral candidate.
