Postdoctoral position - MRI and AI research

The lab of Dr. Efrat Shimron is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join an ERC-funded project focused on advanced MRI reconstruction. The project aims to develop novel methods for pulse sequence optimization and image reconstruction, with a focus on emerging low-field MRI technology. The research is at the intersection of inverse problems, optimization, and machine learning, with applications to clinical MRI.

The successful candidate will work on developing new techniques for MRI acquisition and image reconstruction, including deep-learning-based approaches. The postdoc will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with experts in applied AI, mathematics, signal processing, and medical imaging.

Furthermore, the lab has access to high-quality computational and imaging resources, including a cluster of GPUs, a 3T MRI scanner, and an in-house low-field MRI scanner.

Candidate profile:

• PhD in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, physics, or a closely related field

• Strong background in inverse problems, optimization, signal processing, or machine learning

• Experience with MRI acquisition is an important advantage, but not mandatory

• Excellent programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, PyTorch)

• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
