Chemical edition of natural products with outstanding biological activity and abundant in Brazilian flora.
Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry at Federal University of Paraíba
João Pessoa, Brazil
About
The project will chemically modify highly bioactive natural products abundant in Brazilian flora to develop new, bio-inspired drug prototypes. Its main objectives are to design and synthesize these compounds using strategic synthetic methodologies, characterize them chemically, and then establish scientific partnerships. These partnerships will focus on conducting fundamental and advanced biological studies to explore the pharmacological potential of these compounds as antimicrobials and their potential applications to other diseases and public health threats.
