About

LBTU’s Institute of Plant Protection Research “Agrihorts” is seeking partners to develop a standard MSCA Doctoral Network focused on hyperspectral imaging and the evaluation of biological treatments in greenhouse crops.

We propose an interdisciplinary research and training programme that combines controlled-environment experiments, plant physiology, crop protection and spectral data analysis. A central research question is whether hyperspectral imaging can detect early plant responses to biological treatments and help assess their effectiveness under different growing conditions.

Agrihorts can contribute greenhouse and climate-room facilities for plant trials, experience in greenhouse tomato research, hyperspectral imaging, experimental design and project coordination. Through the international HEALTHYTOMATO project, we also work with data and digital decision support for greenhouse production.

We are looking for universities and research organisations with expertise in plant physiology, biological crop protection, hyperspectral image analysis and predictive modelling. We also welcome greenhouse growers and technology or biological-product companies that can contribute practical research questions, training placements and validation in commercial conditions.

We would like to develop complementary doctoral projects around shared experiments and datasets, with partners contributing their distinct expertise to a coherent training programme. We welcome discussions with organisations interested in joining as beneficiaries or associated partners in a standard MSCA Doctoral Network.
