Nuclear & Radiochemistry, NORM and Radioactive Waste Management

Ehab M. Abdel Rahman

Researcher / Principal Investigator – Nuclear & Radiochemistry at Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority

Nasr City, Cairo, EGYPT., Egypt

About

I offer research expertise in nuclear and radiochemistry, inorganic and analytical chemistry, radiochemical separation, radionuclide characterization, NORM, radioactive waste management, and environmental radioactivity.

My experience includes the development and optimization of chemical separation procedures using solvent extraction, precipitation, chromatography, and extraction chromatography. I also have experience with adsorption processes for the removal of radionuclides and heavy metals from contaminated matrices, including the investigation of adsorption kinetics, equilibrium behaviour, and thermodynamic parameters.

My analytical expertise includes alpha-particle and gamma-ray spectrometry, radionuclide identification and quantification, sample preparation, experimental optimization, data analysis, and interpretation of chemical and radiological measurements.

My research interests include uranium, thorium and other radionuclides; NORM characterization and treatment; radioactive waste management; environmental radioactivity; radiochemical separation; metal-ion chemistry; and sustainable approaches for the treatment and management of radionuclide-contaminated materials.

I am interested in establishing international research collaborations within the MSCA framework and in developing interdisciplinary research projects with European universities and research institutions. Potential areas of collaboration include radionuclide separation and characterization, NORM treatment and remediation, radioactive waste management, environmental radiochemistry, analytical methods, inorganic chemistry, and nuclear safety.

I can contribute experimental expertise, analytical capabilities, research methodology, scientific writing, data interpretation, and experience in developing and optimizing laboratory procedures to collaborative research projects.
